They are stored on your device either temporarily for the duration of a session (session cookies) or permanently (permanent cookies). Session cookies are automatically deleted at the end of your visit. Permanent cookies remain stored on your end device until you delete them yourself or until they are automatically deleted by your web browser.

Cookies have various functions. Many cookies are technically necessary, as certain website functions would not work without them (e.g. the shopping cart function or the display of videos). Other cookies are used to evaluate user behavior or display advertising.

Cookies that are required to carry out the electronic communication process (necessary cookies) or to provide certain functions that you have requested (functional cookies, e.g. for the shopping cart function) or to optimize the website (e.g. cookies to measure the web audience) are stored on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR, unless another legal basis is specified. The website operator has a legitimate interest in the storage of cookies for the technically error-free and optimized provision of its services. If consent to the storage of cookies has been requested, the cookies in question are stored exclusively on the basis of this consent (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR); consent can be revoked at any time.

This data is processed on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR if your request is related to the fulfillment of a contract or is necessary for the implementation of pre-contractual measures. In all other cases, the processing is based on our legitimate interest in the effective processing of the inquiries addressed to us (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR) or on your consent (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR) if this has been requested.

The data you send to us via contact requests will remain with us until you ask us to delete it, revoke your consent to storage or the purpose for data storage no longer applies (e.g. after your request has been processed). Mandatory statutory provisions - in particular statutory retention periods - remain unaffected.

DigiCamper app (only relevant if the DigiCamper services are used)

On this website and also in the associated "DigiCamper" apps for Apple iOS and Google Android, we offer a geo-based application "Radar" and "Live", among others. Both services use location information to determine the position and serve to improve or enable the use of these services. For example, the "Radar" application uses the position data to automatically display your current position in the map view. With the "Radar Live" service, the user can share their own location with other users. If this function is activated, the location is permanently transmitted (even in the background). For users who are not logged in ("guests"), the location is displayed without mentioning their name ("avatar"). Registered users can see their user name on the map and track their position. The position is only shared if the user has explicitly activated this in the app. This setting can be deactivated at any time. Apart from the services mentioned, the location information is not used, exploited or made available to third parties. Use at your own risk. By activating the function, other users can see your location and although we are not aware of any cases, in theory it can also be used for abusive purposes (e.g. for surveillance / stalking). The operator is not liable for any damages that may arise in connection with this function.

Personal data is collected for the following purposes and with the following services

Device authorizations to read the stream of the camera

Location of the device

Reading data (files) from the phone memory

Data about runtime crashes

Types of data collected

1. personal data. Email, first and last name, date of birth

The application will only ask the user to enter their email address to authenticate with the identity provider COMWORKS ID (https://id.comworks.de) if the user has chosen to share their sensor data on the portal. This is used for further access authorization to view their own data on the portal (https://portal.comworks.de) and to communicate on the DigiCamper website (https://www.digicamper.com). Other identity elements (e.g. first name, last name, date of birth) are stored on the COMWORKS ID server and are never used in the application.

2. location. Approximate location and Exact location.

Access to the location is needed for the following useful scenarios:

2.a) to find a list of BLE hardware around the Android phone. This is absolutely necessary due to the specific implementation of the Android SDK and cannot be done without the appropriate permissions.

2.b) The user's position is determined and displayed on the map in the Digicamper Radar unit. The location is also transferred to the Google Map component: https://play.google.com/sdks/d…id-gms-play-services-maps to display locations and the user's current position.

3. app info and performance.crash logs

The application collects information about crashes (fatal, unrecoverable errors in the application) so that they can be fixed in the next versions. This significantly increases the stability of the application in the hands of the user. Data collection is supported by the following library: https://play.google.com/sdks/d…base-firebase-crashlytics

4. read data (files) from phone memory is only used to import the sensor configuration file from the provided file. Some Android versions and the Android firmware of some manufacturers require permission to read the provided file, even if the FileProvider is enabled.

Full details on each type of Personal Data collected are provided in the relevant sections of this privacy policy or through specific explanatory texts displayed prior to data collection.

The Personal Data may be freely provided by the User, or, in case of Usage Data, collected automatically when using the Application.

All data requested by the Application is mandatory and failure to provide this data may result in the Application being unable to provide its services. In cases where the Application explicitly indicates that certain Data is not mandatory, Users are free not to provide this Data without this having any impact on the availability or functioning of the Service.

Users who are not sure which personal data is mandatory are welcome to contact the operator.

Users are responsible for all personal data of third parties that they have received, published or shared via the Application and confirm that they have the consent of the third parties to share the data with the Operator.

Method and place of data processing

Methods of processing

The Data Controller processes Users' Data in a proper manner and takes appropriate security measures to prevent unauthorized access, disclosure, modification or unauthorized destruction of the Data.

Data processing is carried out with the aid of computers and/or IT-based tools, following organizational procedures and modalities strictly related to the purposes indicated. In addition to the Data Controller, in some cases, the Data may be accessible to certain types of persons in charge, involved with the operation of the site (administration, sales, marketing, legal, system administration) or external parties (such as third-party technical service providers, mail carriers, hosting providers, IT companies, communications agencies) appointed, if necessary, as Data Processors by the Owner. The updated list of these parties can be requested from the Data Controller at any time.

Location

The Data is processed at the Data Controller's offices and in other places where the parties involved in the processing are located. For more information, please contact the Data Controller.

Retention period

The Data is kept for the time necessary to provide the service requested by the User or for the purposes described in this document and the User may request that the Data Controller suspend or remove the Data at any time.

The use of the collected data

The User's Data is collected to allow the Data Controller to provide its Services, as well as for the following purposes:

- Location authorization is required to:

Scan BLE devices in the vicinity to obtain data from these devices. The application will never directly retrieve or store the user's location.

The collection of the user's location is only started when the user enters Radar and transmitted to the Google map component to display the current user location on the map. The determined location is neither saved in the app nor on the server.

- The camera is only used to scan QR/barcodes sequentially to add sensors to the list of scanned devices without being scanned.

- The email address is used as the primary key for user identification (also user name, login, etc.)

- Crash logs are non-personalized data used only to protect the application from such events in further builds.

- The configuration file of the sensor does NOT contain any personal data of the user.

Camera

The application uses the camera to scan special QR/barcodes so that sensors can be added to the list without being near the user.

Location

The main function of the application is to work with BLE hardware and display the data retrieved from the items. The implementation in Android requires the use of permission to scan BLE devices and retrieve data.

DigiCamper Radar requires the user's location to display its own position on the map. If the location authorization is revoked.

The collection of the user's location is only started if the user has Radar active and is transmitted to the Google map component to display the current user location on the map. If the user excludes the application from granting permission, the application will work fine, but it will not be able to display the user's location. The determined location is not stored in the application or on the server.

Read external storage

This permission is required for some Android versions to avoid problems when importing the configuration file for sensors. Some phone manufacturers are experiencing these problems due to changes in the Android firmware.

Netiquette of Kastenwagenforum.de

General

Forum members are addressed in the entire panel van forum and via private messages using the "you" form.

You are not sitting opposite a machine, but a personality. Tolerance and humanity are the order of the day, as nobody is better or worse and every user is treated with equal respect.

The anonymity of the Internet does not give anyone the right to be abusive. Please do not discuss any disagreements in the forum, but in a private message.

Responding members are always happy to receive a "thank you" or the "like" function. In this way you also show that their help is appreciated and respected, especially if the comments were useful and helpful to you.

Posted content (e.g. texts, pictures, travel reports, etc.) can be edited or deleted within 24 hours. In order to preserve the meaningfulness of the contributions, it is not possible to edit or delete messages at a later date. After the deletion or blocking of a member (whether at their own request or due to a sanction), there is no entitlement to the deletion of the submitted content or the publication of the source texts. Contributed content (texts, images, avatars, places, journeys, etc.) are made available to Kastenwagenforum for free use (utilization). This also includes the use of this content in advertising measures such as newsletters, print media or digital advertising messages. Example: A screenshot of Kastenwagenforumr could be used for a newsletter. These advertising measures serve exclusively to increase awareness of Kastenwagenforum. It goes without saying that this data will not be passed on to third parties.

Profile

The profile picture (avatar) must not infringe any trademark or image rights of third parties. If you use third-party content, you must have the consent of the rights holder. Pictures depicting other people are also not permitted.

The signature may be 3 lines including the greeting. Links to private websites are permitted, but no commercial product advertising.

The creation of so-called fake accounts is not permitted. Accounts created to harass or deceive other forum participants (including guests) will be deleted as soon as they become known. If the fake account can be assigned to an already registered member, this member will either be warned or blocked at the discretion of the operator or moderator. The operator reserves the right to carry out technical checks to identify so-called fake accounts in the event of suspicion.

The creation of impersonal accounts, secondary accounts, accounts for legal entities, corporate bodies or other groups always requires the prior, express and written approval of the operator.

If you wish to delete your own profile, you can initiate this by contacting the administration and it will then be implemented within a reasonable period of time (usually within a few days). When an account is deleted, the access data is deleted and the account is anonymized (a generic name, e.g. "user_99", is created from the previous user name). Submitted content will not be deleted in order not to impair the meaningfulness of the contributions. Do not add any content if you do not agree to this.

Users who have already been blocked or deleted in the past may only be re-registered with the express written permission of the operator, which must be obtained in advance.

Clarity and formatting

Choose the right forum and a suitable, meaningful heading for your topic.

Make an effort with the wording, spelling and formatting to make it easier to understand, arouse interest and receive more specific and appropriate answers to your question.

Please use quotations sparingly and shorten them as much as possible. Questions and reminders are normal and serve the exchange of information.

Advertising and links

Advertising (including disguised advertising) is generally prohibited in posts in the forum, via the messaging system, in the user's own profile, in the user name, in the signature and in the avatar. In particular, this refers to links to web stores, forums or other communities that pursue the purpose of using the panel van forum as an advertising platform in their own interests.

References and links from users for users are tolerated for information purposes.

Links without reference to the topic or with (partial) commercial intent, as well as the publication of e-mail addresses, names, telephone numbers and addresses are not permitted.

Affiliate links are not permitted.

References and links to your own private homepages are permitted as long as the above criteria are not violated.

Commercial providers, vehicle manufacturers and dealers

Anyone registering here as a commercial provider, vehicle manufacturer, dealer or in any other way as a user working in the industry must register with the forum administrator before posting their first post in order to be marked as a commercial user.

It is not permitted to register with commercial intentions and to write forum posts, comment on them or contribute in any other way without being marked as a commercial user.

House rules

House rules apply, which both the operator and the moderators can exercise at any time without giving reasons.

The instructions of the operator or the moderators must be followed as soon as they become known. In the event of non-compliance, the operator reserves the right to block users temporarily or permanently. The sanctions are at the discretion of the executing team members within the scope of their respective powers.

In the event of a breach of the rules, the operator and its authorized representatives have the right to edit, move, close, open or delete any topic or user profile.

Law and order

Offensive, violence-glorifying, discriminatory, threatening, insulting, harassing, denouncing, vulgar, provocative, racist, sexist or otherwise objectionable or punishable statements as well as links to pages with such content have no place in posts and discussions. The same applies to comments about typical behavior of other nationalities or groups. Respond respectfully and objectively to other opinions, avoid getting personal.

No legal advice, especially in connection with the purchase or sale of vehicles or similar. This also applies to "tips and tricks", experience reports or even requests in relation to a possible vehicle conversion.

The infringement of (intellectual) property is not permitted on the panel van forum. In borderline cases, cautious behavior is generally appropriate, e.g. when it comes to internal information and third-party property rights.

In the event of problems with the vehicle (manufacturer)

In principle, we ask that individual problems be clarified directly with the respective manufacturer. This applies in particular to problems where the forum cannot help, but at best serves as a "stage" with a mood-creating character. For many reasons, the forum is a completely unsuitable place to discuss topics that are only relevant to those affected. Please observe the following rules. In the event of non-compliance, we will unfortunately have to move such posts to a separate area without further warning until the post complies with the rules and can be released again. This also applies to any follow-up posts along the lines of "Why was post XYZ moved, I only have....".

Problems may be discussed objectively, but without "propaganda".

Lurid headlines and texts are not welcome. For example: "Attention - vehicle manufacturer XYZ - never again!!!" or "Vehicle manufacturer XYZ finally gone - we look forward to vehicle manufacturer XYZ".

It should always be borne in mind that the reporting is usually only from one side and the claims cannot be verified, so particular fairness must be applied. Due to this fact, business-damaging claims or accusations should also be avoided as far as possible, as neither the moderators nor the users can determine the truth of the matter. It is up to the moderators and/or forum operators to check and, if necessary, comment on or remove such statements.

No detective work! The panel van forum is not a platform for uncovering possible problems whose fault cannot be 100% traced. The borderline to defamation is so small here that we cannot possibly check (or have checked) every post. Please note that great damage can be done if a statement or an alleged (serial) problem is published here and it subsequently turns out to be false.

No publication of any correspondence, legal issues or negotiated "deals" with the vehicle manufacturer - this has no place in the forum.

Finally, it should be mentioned that a certain error rate is the order of the day for some manufacturers in this niche market. It is important that manufacturers react quickly to any errors and help customers. And if this should not be the case, then a "smear campaign" usually does not help anyone.

Private messages (conversations)

This channel should be used for personal conversations and discussions that are not intended for the public or have nothing to do with a topic in the forum.

Private conversations should also remain private, therefore the publication of private conversations is prohibited.

Liability

It is expressly pointed out that the contents of the forum contributions do not simultaneously reflect the opinion of Kastenwagenforum or its operator. No guarantee is given for the accuracy of the content.

The Kastenwagenforum distances itself from the content of linked pages.

The Kastenwagenforum accepts no responsibility or liability for possible misuse of data published by users in the forum. This includes the naming of private homepages in combination with personal data such as proper names or addresses.

Conclusion

The panel van forum is a free, brand-independent community. We are primarily interested in the exchange of experiences in the field of electronics, IT and other technology in the caravan / motorhome sector. Although the vehicles come from different manufacturers, many topics are similar. Especially with this type of motorhome, with a production process similar to that of a manufactory, manufacturing errors cannot always be ruled out. A factual discussion about grievances or errors is not a problem, but "blackening" manufacturers is. The panel van forum sees itself as a platform for exchanging experiences, but not as a place for legal issues. In particular, we ask you to refrain from "public mud-slinging" and to contact the respective manufacturer directly in the event of disagreements. This is one of the reasons why the panel van forum does not check the identity of its members, which makes it possible to post anonymously. We ask you not to take advantage of this "freedom", but to enjoy it in the form of a fair and friendly exchange of information
